How we grow & buying from us
All our plants are hardy, reliable varieties that are either edible, medicinal, or beneficial to wildlife and soil life, and many are all three! (see our food forest page for more info).
We offer many fruit and nut bearing trees, as well as fruiting or otherwise useful and ecologically beneficial shrubs and herbaceous perennials. Many of our plants are not otherwise available in Scotland.
Our stock is still growing as our mother plants get more established. We are also trialing and experimenting with different species and varieties to find out more about what it's really like to partner with them in a landscape. And so we hope to offer much more variety in future years.
Some things you may like to know about how we grow
- All of our plants are grown either in our own living soil, or in our own homemade/locally sourced compost
- We don't ever use artificial fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides
- We grow all our plants, and harvest them in a way that enourages robust root systems, and you will receive them with lots of healthy fibrous root growth intact, this gives them the best start we could give them
- We use recycled and locally sourced propagation materials and offer plants in reused pots as much as possible
